The mood remains positive on Wall Street as the week comes to a close. However, major US indices have barely moved in the past five days. The Nasdaq index shows minimal movement and is currently at 26,839. Within the Nasdaq, the Nasdaq 100, which comprises the 100 largest non-financial technology companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange, remains unchanged at 30,104 points.

Three factors have driven this week's gains: first, hopes for a less stringent interest rate policy by the US Federal Reserve, fueled by inflation and employment data, helped boost stock prices. Second, investors have shown renewed interest in tech and AI stocks following some recent sell-offs. Lastly, numerous firms outperformed expectations in the second quarter, surpassing analyst forecasts.

Michael Hartnett, a senior analyst at Bank of America, told Bloomberg that the door for riskier investments is "wide open." However, one potential risk remains the situation in the Persian Gulf. Although oil prices barely moved on Friday, US Treasury Secretary Scott Besse told a television interview that the US would impose new measures against Iran, significantly isolating the country economically. This announcement came in a televised interview on Friday.

The index provider S&P Dow Jones Indices announced on late Thursday that Reddit would join the S&P 500 starting August 18. The company replaced AvalonBay Communities in this index. Index funds that track the S&P 500 will now need to purchase shares of Reddit. Furthermore, the announcement of new US tariffs on imported drones has lifted the stocks of domestic drone manufacturers.

Companies such as Red Cat, Kratos, Aerovironment, and Unusual Machines saw their stocks rise by 3 to 7.5 percent due to these tariffs. President Donald Trump signed an order authorizing the imposition of these tariffs on drone imports and their components on Friday, as reported by wire services.
