Did Lindsay Clancy send texts to Patrick Clancy before killing their 3 children?

On January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy allegedly murdered her three young children - Cora, who was 5 years old, Dawson, who was 3 years old, and Callan, who was 8 months old - in their home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The court released Lindsay Clancy's text messages with her husband Patrick Clancy, which were examined by State Trooper Timothy Chiappini during the trial.

The text messages revealed that Lindsay and Patrick were having a seemingly ordinary conversation just over an hour before the alleged murder of their children. Lindsay suggested doing takeout from a nearby restaurant and inquired about Patrick's food order. After Patrick left for his errands, Lindsay sent him their food order, to which Patrick responded.

Later that day, Patrick returned home to find Cora and Dawson lifeless, while Callan was barely alive. Lindsay attempted suicide by jumping from the window of their second-story bedroom, but was partially paralyzed. Lindsay's attorney is arguing for her acquittal based on insanity, claiming she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and was influenced by voices instructing her to commit the murders.

Prosecutors, however, assert that Lindsay meticulously planned the killings, driven by a desire to escape the responsibilities of motherhood. The jury, after a third week of the trial, is expected to reach a verdict on Monday morning.
