Chinese aerospace and medtech firm Hyatech to build new manufacturing plant in Iskandar Puteri

SINGAPORE - High-precision manufacturing firm Wuxi Hyatech Co Ltd from Shanghai has chosen Iskandar Puteri, Johor, as its new manufacturing hub in Southeast Asia. This marks the company's expansion into the industrial park within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

The new factory will be developed by AME Elite Consortium via its subsidiary Pentagon Land Sdn Bhd for HYA Industry (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Hyatech's Malaysian entity. The 2.75-hectare site boasts a built-up area of around 220,000 square feet, where Hyatech plans to conduct research, development, and production for both aerospace and orthopaedic medical device sectors.

Hyatech specializes in aerospace manufacturing of compressor blades for commercial aircraft engines and produces forged orthopaedic implants for the global healthcare market. The Iskandar Puteri facility will handle these complex manufacturing processes, positioning it as a substantial manufacturing and R&D hub rather than a simple assembly line.

This facility is part of Hyatech's wider US$70 million (S$89 million) overseas expansion strategy unveiled in November 2025. The company intends to establish operations in both Malaysia and Singapore to bolster global market development and improve supply chain efficiency.

AME Elite Executive Director and CEO Dylan Tan highlighted that Hyatech's selection of i-TechValley confirms the industrial park's capability to meet the rigorous demands of aerospace and healthcare manufacturing. For Singapore, Hyatech's operations across Malaysia and Singapore underscore the JS-SEZ's role in enabling high-value manufacturing near Singapore's role as a regional trade, finance, and logistics hub.

The presence of a precision components manufacturer with global aircraft engine customers on the other side of the Causeway enhances the regional supply chain infrastructure benefiting both nations.
