The aide stated that this model enjoys the broadest public acceptance and that Lee shares concerns over the concentration of power, which critics have dubbed the "imperial presidency" in South Korea.

The official emphasized that any constitutional reform should be debated and pursued within the National Assembly, where amendments necessitate the backing of at least 200 lawmakers and must be grounded in political consensus. It is worth noting that the current presidential term is limited to a single five-year period.
