Anwar can still focus on reforms to boost support, says KJ

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has the potential to refine his strategy and focus on reforms to enhance his support, according to Khairy Jamaluddin. The Pakatan Harapan leader acknowledges the shift in Malay votes towards Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional, which could harm his position if this trend persists until the next general election.

Khairy suggests Anwar has two options: implementing the promised reforms or using his authority to consolidate his political standing. The former health minister believes Anwar will likely opt for the latter choice, citing the recent decision to direct parliamentary allocations through the Prime Minister's Department after several PKR MPs were barred from accessing the online portal for managing the funds.

Khairy's co-host, Shahril Hamdan, notes that Anwar still has an opportunity to make changes, but time is running short. Anwar's image and reputation built before becoming prime minister are advantages, but he must address any shortcomings in allocating funds to MPs, as doing so could endear him to voters.
