Alcampo’s new supermarket in Costa del Sol heads to Benalmadena by end of 2026

Alcampo, a French supermarket chain, is set to open its first company-owned supermarket in Andalucia by the end of 2026 in Benalmadena. The new 1,200-square-metre Alcampo Supermercado format store will be located inside the Altos del Higueron shopping centre in Benalmadena, just a short drive from the A-7 motorway exit 1008. The store is expected to open later this year and will employ around 40 people.

Customers can expect everyday essentials, a dedicated wine section, and staffed counters for meat, fish, bakery, ready meals, charcuterie, and cheese. Opening hours will run from 9am to 10pm, including certain Sundays and bank holidays. Online orders can be collected from refrigerated lockers on site. The new store will join the existing pharmacy, dental clinic, estate agent, café, offices, and storage units already operating at the centre.

Alcampo has been operating in the region since 1989, primarily through its larger hypermarket in Marbella. The store is expected to offer similar competitive prices and a wide range of brands to residents in Benalmadena Pueblo, Los Pacos, Fuengirola, and Mijas Pueblo. The shopping centre, owned by RH Prive, will provide a diverse mix of shops and services in the Reserva del Higueron area.
