Al Sadd Metro Station features artistic murals in collaboration with Qatar Museums

Doha's Al Sadd Station on the Doha Metro has transformed into an artistic hub, thanks to striking murals in collaboration with Qatar Museums. These vibrant artworks seamlessly blend local culture, creativity, and everyday travel, turning the station into a lively open-air gallery for commuters. Qatar Rail recently showcased these murals, emphasizing how they contribute to the station's unique atmosphere, making daily journeys more engaging and enriching.

The murals, part of broader public art efforts supported by Qatar Museums, showcase a diverse range of influences. One mural pays homage to traditional Qatari and Arabian motifs, featuring a figure in traditional dress alongside a camel and falcon against bold geometric patterns. Another mural portrays playful, stylized characters engaged in painting, while a third depicts figures in thobes gathered around large bowls under a pouring vessel, evoking a sense of communal life with a contemporary twist.

These artistic installations form part of a larger initiative to integrate art into urban spaces and public transport hubs across Doha. Al Sadd Station, situated on the Gold Line and serving the bustling Al Sadd district, opened in November 2019. Its central location ensures that the murals are highly visible to both residents and visitors, making them an integral part of the city's cultural landscape.
