Agricultural quarantine service postpones release of recruitment shortlist

The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) has delayed the release of the shortlisted candidates for its ongoing recruitment exercise, originally set for Thursday, August 13. The decision was made by the agency to ensure a thorough, transparent, and accurate recruitment process. The postponement was announced by the Director of Human Resources, ACG Issaka Ahmed, in a public notice posted on the NAQS's X platform on Friday.

The agency apologized for the delay and requested that applicants and the public remain patient while awaiting a new date. NAQS stated that a new date will be communicated in due course through their official communication channels. The recruitment exercise, which began on July 28 and closed on August 10, received a total of 606,928 attempted applications, with 407,659 being successfully submitted.

Of the successfully submitted applications, 199,269 were found to be incomplete. The Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II cadre, which requires an HND or bachelor’s degree, had the highest number of applications at 290,076. The other cadres included Quarantine Assistant II with 117,177 applications, NCE category with 79,685 applications, OND with 70,170 applications, and the Superintendent cadre requiring a master’s degree with 13,183 applications.
