Adamus Resources rejects revocation of mining leases

Adamus Resources Limited has firmly rejected the revocation of its mining leases by Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, branding the decision as unlawful and in conflict with Ghana’s established mining regulations. The firm, in a statement by its Group Human Resource and Administration Manager, Alex Obu-Simpson, expressed shock and disappointment over the withdrawal of its mineral rights, alleging that the process did not adhere to the requirements set forth in the Minerals and Mining Act, 2006 (Act 703).

Adamus Resources dismissed the Minister's allegations against it, calling them "unfounded, contrived, and deliberately manufactured." The company argued that the allegations were being leveraged to coerce the firm into relinquishing its mining leases. Furthermore, Adamus Resources accused the Minister of abusing his power, asserting that the revocation process disregarded the law.

The company has indicated its intention to contest the decision, stating it will employ "cogent steps" to overturn the revocation. Adamus Resources aims to inform the Ghanaian public about its planned actions to challenge what it deems a "baseless revocation." This development could potentially lead to a legal battle over the revocation of Adamus Resources' mining leases and the procedures used by authorities to reach the decision.

The decision to revoke Adamus Resources' mining leases for Akango, Salman, and Nkroful properties was upheld in April 2026 following a final report by an Inter-Ministerial Committee. The committee's report confirmed the initial revocation, which was based on recommendations from the Minerals Commission.
