Watch: Rahul mocks PM's foreign policy with a hug; Cong leader takes Meloni swipe

In a recent speech at the Rachnatmak Congress national convention, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy, criticizing it as overly reliant on physical displays of camaraderie. Rahul questioned the origins of such ideas, suggesting that the Prime Minister's perspective was misguided.

During the event, he playfully hugged Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, prompting Dikshit's witty remark that the hug was not intended for Italian Prime Minister Elisa Meloni. Rahul reiterated his criticism, highlighting India's missed opportunities in its handling of the US and Iran relationship. He pointed to Iran's longstanding friendships with both America and Russia, and lamented that Pakistan had stepped in as the mediator during the Iran war.

Rahul argued that had India leveraged these alliances, it could have become more relevant on the global stage. Turning to China, Rahul mentioned receiving confidential updates from Modi's office regarding a revolt within the Chinese military. He revealed that China had obstructed Indian patrols in Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that while the land belonged to India, patrolling was not permitted.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj dismissed Rahul's remarks as uncultured, undignified, obscene, and indecent, arguing that such behavior discredited the opposition leader and highlighted a lack of maturity.
