US Mission wishes Team Nigeria luck at World Athletics U20 Championships

The United States Mission in Nigeria has extended its best wishes to Team Nigeria as they prepare to participate in the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships, set to take place in Oregon, United States. In a message on X, the mission expressed confidence in the Nigerian athletes and praised the opportunity for the next generation to demonstrate their skills and determination on the global stage.

The US Mission also emphasized the strong links between Nigeria and the United States, highlighting the representation of these ties through Team Nigeria's participation in the championship. The 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships, also known as Oregon 26, is the 21st edition of the global event for junior track-and-field athletes, with over 1,700 athletes from nearly 200 countries anticipated to compete.

The championship features a wide range of events, including sprints, middle- and long-distance races, relays, jumps, throws, and combined events. The US Mission conveyed their support for Team Nigeria, wishing them the best as they compete against elite young athletes from around the world.
