US: Karoline Leavitt to Step Down as Trump's Spokesperson

Karoline Leavitt, the youngest-ever White House press secretary, will depart her role at the end of the month, President Donald Trump announced. Leavitt, 28, took on the position in January 2025, the same year as Trump's second term started. She is known for being a fervent supporter of the MAGA movement and one of Trump's most recognizable faces.

Leavitt has been balancing her White House responsibilities with her role as a mother, recently returning from parental leave after delivering her second child in May. She also has a 2-year-old son. Before joining the White House, Leavitt worked for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and ran unsuccessfully for a House seat in 2022. She also served as a spokesperson for MAGA Inc., a super PAC supporting Trump.

Leavitt has been praised by Trump for her work, calling her "one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office." However, her tenure has not been without controversy, such as her false claim about condom funding for Gaza and her staunch defense of Trump's hard-line policies, often without fact-checking.
