Umm Al-Qura University continues student exchange with St George’s, University of London

Umm Al-Qura University is in its second year of an international student exchange program with St George’s, University of London, focusing on clinical medicine. The initiative offers advanced summer training for Saudi medical students at St George’s Hospital in the United Kingdom. The program aims to enrich students' clinical and professional skills, expose them to global learning experiences, and bolster international academic cooperation in the medical and health sectors.

It is part of Umm Al-Qura University's strategy to bolster its international partnerships and graduate more competent medical professionals. Participants engage in in-hospital supervision, working alongside medical teams, assessing cases, and collaborating in multidisciplinary healthcare teams. They also gain insight into the UK healthcare system, medical education, and research methodologies.

Warda Al-Asmari, Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership at Umm Al-Qura University, emphasized the program's role in preparing students for multicultural healthcare environments, aligning with the university's 2027 goals to enhance academic and personal skills and prepare graduates for local and global competitiveness, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
