Two railway workers killed: a Russian jet drone hit their train’s locomotive in Odesa Oblast

On the morning of August 13, a Russian jet drone hit the locomotive of a passenger train in Odesa Oblast, killing the driver and his assistant, according to Ukraine's national rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia. The train was en route from Odesa to Dnipro with 340 passengers aboard. Despite the attack, all passengers were evacuated without injury and were transported to Odesa by bus.

Ukraine's Air Force successfully intercepted and destroyed 111 of the 133 Shahed drones launched by Russia overnight. This attack extended to various regions, including Izmail, where power was lost, and Odesa Oblast, where port infrastructure was set ablaze. Additionally, a civilian vessel in Mykolaiv Oblast was damaged, and two raions in Chernihiv Oblast suffered from strikes, leading to damaged homes and a knocked-out filling station.

In Kherson Oblast, two individuals were killed and a three-year-old child was injured during a strike. In Kharkiv Oblast, a 36-year-old woman was killed in Tsyrkuny, and three others were wounded in another village. Zaporizhzhia Oblast experienced multiple strikes, resulting in one death and three injuries across 52 settlements, while Sumy Oblast reported seven injuries due to shelling of 19 settlements.
