Turkey pledges continued support for dialogue between eastern and western Libya

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan affirmed on Wednesday that his nation will persist in backing dialogue and collaboration between Libya's eastern and western regions. The purpose: to foster peace, stability, and prosperity across the country. Following his visit to Tripoli and Benghazi, Fidan shared his thoughts on X, describing the trip as a tangible embodiment of Turkey's commitment to a "united Libya," regardless of geographical divisions.

During his time in both cities, he engaged in comprehensive discussions about Libya's political and security agenda, as well as avenues to bolster bilateral cooperation. Fidan emphasized that Turkey's own security and stability are inherently linked to Libya's, asserting that Turkish-Libyan cooperation in security and defense constitutes a strategic element with concrete benefits for Libya's stability and regional security.

The Turkish foreign minister kicked off his journey in Tripoli, where he conversed with Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, focusing on the political process in Libya, regional developments, and security matters.
