Trump's Name to Stay on Kennedy Center: How Loophole Will Be Challenged

The Kennedy Center board recently proposed adding President Donald Trump's name beneath the main signage of the iconic building. The decision comes after U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper ruled that the board lacked the authority to change the Kennedy Center's name, which is meant to honor President John F. Kennedy. The board is considering renaming the grounds "President Donald J. Trump Plaza" and is directing officials to pursue "all legal means" to honor Trump.

However, opponents argue that the distinction between renaming the Kennedy Center and memorializing Trump on its facade may not hold up in federal court. Former White House ethics lawyer Norm Eisen criticized the board's decision, stating that it is an attempt to circumvent the court's ruling.
