Travis Kelce, the four-time All-Pro tight end, has been candid about his performance in the 2025 season. His 76 receptions were the third-lowest of his career, with the previous low points occurring in his rookie and sophomore years. Additionally, Kelce recorded 851 receiving yards, marking the second-lowest total of his career. The five touchdowns he scored were the third-worst figure in his career.

Recognizing the need for improvement, Kelce emphasized the necessity to excel beyond his previous season. He admitted that last year's performance was marred by a few instances where he put undue pressure on himself. As for his blocking skills, Kelce stressed the importance of securing his man to facilitate larger gains and serving as a better leader for his team. Kelce has reportedly dedicated extra time to his offseason training, aside from his extravagant wedding to Taylor Swift.

Kelce further expressed his desire to be a dependable player who can lead his team out of challenging situations. He stated, "For all accounts, Kelce has put in extra time this offseason – apart from his lavish Madison Square Garden wedding with Taylor Swift. When we get stuck with adversity hitting, who's going to want to be in that foxhole with you? I want to be one of those guys everybody counts on to get us out of that foxhole." Kansas City is set to kick off the 2026 season against the Denver Broncos on September 14.
