Tinubu overwhelmed by difficulties of governance – SDP president candidate Adebayo

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Adewole Adebayo, has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over its governance approach and cabinet selections. During a speech at the Middle Belt Forum, Adebayo compared Tinubu's leadership to placing an inexperienced pilot in the cockpit of an aircraft.

He argued that the President may be overwhelmed by the complexities of governing Nigeria, likening him to someone confronted with numerous buttons in the aircraft's cockpit without understanding their functions. Adebayo noted that many have felt similarly in such situations, either pressing buttons randomly or giving up entirely.

He emphasized that effective leadership demands a thorough understanding of the country's challenges. Additionally, Adebayo criticized the administration's ministerial appointments, particularly the concentration of key positions in certain areas, stating that it is not responsible for selecting ministers from the same local government for different ministries, such as the Finance Minister and Interior Minister coming from the same locality.
