Those who are ‘two-faced’ putting unity govt to the test, says PKR Youth chief

PKR Youth chief Kamil Munim has cautioned that individuals he labels as "two-faced" are endangering the unity government's stability. He did not single out any specific individuals, but accused certain groups of being "politically unfaithful." Despite the leadership's efforts to win back public trust in their administration, these actions are hindering the government's reform plans and efforts to strengthen the government, Kamil stated during his policy speech at the youth wing's congress in Melaka.

Kamil urged parties to prioritize national and public interests over their own political gains. He also commended Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for staying composed despite facing attacks from all sides, while emphasizing the need for the prime minister to maintain his magnanimity and smile for the sake of public dignity and national stability.

Kamil's comments come as the future of cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) remains uncertain. BN won 48 out of 56 seats in Johor's state election and formed a coalition with opposition parties, securing a two-thirds majority in the state assembly. Meanwhile, PH secured 11 seats. However, ahead of the Melaka election, BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has hinted that the coalition is open to talks with any party, even though they previously insisted on maintaining the BN-PN partnership.

The Democratic Action Party (DAP) will decide at its congress on Sunday whether to continue being part of the federal government, as frustration within PH over the pace of reforms continues to grow.
