Term plan for women: 15% discount, pregnancy break

A new term insurance plan, ICICI Pru iProtect Smart Her, has been launched by ICICI Prudential Life Insurance specifically for women. This plan offers a 15% lifetime premium discount, a pregnancy break, and women-specific health benefits. Women can also choose to increase income payouts for their children's education.

The pregnancy break feature allows women to take a break from paying premiums during pregnancy, providing greater financial flexibility during this important life stage. This feature is designed to help women manage their financial commitments while continuing to receive the protection offered by the policy.

Additionally, the plan includes Child Education Care, where the death benefit is paid as income rather than a lump sum. This income increases by 10% every year for 10 years, providing financial support for a child's education and other future needs.

The ICICI Pru iProtect Smart Her plan also bundles health and wellness services with the life cover. Women can enjoy benefits like teleconsultations across multiple specialties, annual health check-ups, wellness content, pharmacy and diagnostic discounts, and more. The total value of these health and wellness perks is valued at up to ₹25,000.

Before purchasing the plan, buyers should evaluate the actual life cover, premium, policy term, and exclusions and conditions attached to the additional benefits. While the wellness services and discounts are valuable, they should not be considered a substitute for adequate life insurance coverage.
