Take Immediate Action Against Illegal Constructions, Probe Officials Delaying Action: Anna Bansode

Mumbai: Anna Bansode, Deputy Speaker of the Maharashtra Assembly, has directed authorities to take immediate legal action against unauthorized and illegal constructions within the Kolhapur Urban Area Development Authority's jurisdiction. At a meeting chaired by Bansode at the Vidhan Bhavan, the inquiry was ordered into officials responsible for delaying or neglecting to act against such constructions.

The report on the status of illegal structures and actions taken was to be submitted by August 28-29. The meeting reviewed complaints about such constructions in Valivade, Uchgaon, Gandhinagar, Chinchwad and Mudshingi villages. Officials presented details of notices issued, inspection reports, police cases filed and court proceedings.

Bansode emphasized that authorities should not keep cases pending by issuing notices or taking routine action; instead, they must initiate further strict legal proceedings as per the rules and assign responsibility for delays. He also directed the district collector to issue notices and take action against the sale and purchase of residential units in unauthorized buildings.

Bansode stressed the need for action without discrimination against all illegal constructions and ordered a comprehensive survey and report on these structures by the specified date.
