Suspek kes bunuh pelajar Bandar Utama alami pelbagai ilusi

On October 14th, 2025, a 15-year-old male suspect in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, appeared in the High Court to give his account of the events leading to the death of a 16-year-old female student in her school's hostel. The boy, represented by lawyer Kitson Foong, chose to give a sworn statement after being asked to do so, despite the prosecution's success in establishing a prima facie case against him.

In court, Foong explained that his client requested forgiveness for the cause of death and other related incidents. The defense initiated the case by presenting a statement from their leading witness, a psychiatrist from Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Dr. Ian Lloyd Anthony. Dr. Anthony's testimony focused on the mental state of the suspect, including the referral process, treatment, and examination results.

In addition to the written statement received by the court, Foong's team also questioned the psychiatrist about psychiatric terms and definitions, including psychosis and schizophrenia. Dr. Anthony was the final witness, providing his assessment that the suspect had experienced multiple hallucinations and mental illness for about five years.

The psychiatrist also explained that a prolonged period without treatment could exacerbate the mental condition, especially if it occurred during the suspect's childhood. Foong's client was charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, but as a juvenile, he is subject to the provisions of the Children's Act 2001.
