아름다운재단·사회적상속마중물, 기금 만들어 청년들 지원하기로

A "social inheritance fund" was launched on the principle that the responsibilities we inherit from previous generations and society should be returned to future generations. The "Beautiful Foundation" and the civic group "Social Inheritance Heritage" held the launch ceremony for the Social Inheritance Fund on the 13th at the Concert Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Social inheritance refers to a donation culture that extends inheritance beyond family and uses it for the benefit of the entire next generation. The Beautiful Foundation was centered around 10 eminent applicants, including former Seoul Education Director Ji-hyun, Bishop Kim Seong-su, and renowned professor Son Bong-ho, with 123 civic representatives participating in total.

As of today, around 12 million won in funds have been collected. The Social Inheritance Fund is planned to support the public-spirited activities of young people in creating a better society, such as climate change, ecological restoration, and community rebuilding. During the ceremony, Ji-hyun, as the joint chairperson of the Social Inheritance Heritage, stated that "social inheritance is changing the potential of our future in the essence of life we have lived."

She expressed her hope that the efforts of our aging generation would pave the way for a promising education for future generations within our neighborhoods and communities. Ahn Hee-chul, the Beautiful Foundation's vice president, said, "We are not living alone; we have received help from others." He elaborated that "passing on what I received to the next person is social inheritance," and pledged, "We will strive to make social inheritance a natural culture."

In the social inheritance declaration, they noted that "the unseen social contribution is embedded in what we have today," and questioned, "Is what I have today entirely mine?" Therefore, they propose "social inheritance." They emphasized that "the important thing is not the size but the flow of choices together," and stated, "We aim to return a little of what we have received from society first.

This small flow will change an individual's life, broaden the possibilities of a generation, and create the next for our society."
