The actress, who is currently receiving attention as the 100,000-subscriber influencer for the show, spoke about her experience portraying the character of Kyunghee in an interview at a cafe in Seoul's Seocho district.

"This glamorous role is quite rare since 'Style' (2009 on SBS)," she said, noting that she searched for successful influencers to portray the character. The series, which revolves around a happy family torn apart by a scandalous affair, has become a black comedy sensation. Kyunghee's character starts with a 'scandal hair' and spirals into a series of crises, including hiding the affair and demanding large sums of money.

Her popularity soared after the first episode, with viewership increasing by 169% in the first week and becoming the highest overall for any CoupangPlay series. Behind her striking appearance lies an actress who meticulously crafts a character with hidden complexity and ambition. "The glamorous exterior represents her desire to maintain a perfect household and succeed," she explained, adding that she also embodies a complex feeling of inadequacy and envy.

Despite her outward success, Kyunghee's character is one who fights tirelessly in the background, always pushing herself to the limit. When asked if her look has made her a 'favorite' among fans, she replied, "I've never thought that way. My job doesn't allow for such luxury, and I'm more like a crane, constantly moving forward."

The project was chosen specifically because of the provocative title. "‘I Don't Care About the Scandal' is like being told, 'You have to look at this first,' she said, describing her initial reaction to the title. The unique blend of genres and themes caught her attention, making it a standout work. "I Don't Care About the Scandal" is based on the works of authors Eunkyeong Park and Saerin Park and is directed by Jinwung Choi of the Netflix series "Murder Mystery."

The chemistry between the cast members adds to the show's appeal, particularly a playful exchange between Kyunghee and Minho (played by Jo Eun-ji) that has been widely discussed. "Working with such talented actors makes things even more exciting, and I cherish those moments," she said, praising Jo Eun-ji's performance.
