Solomon rubbishes rumours of rifts with Essendon coaching candidates

Essendon interim coach Dean Solomon has firmly rejected allegations of a rift between himself, Mark McVeigh, and James Hird. Solomon admits uncertainty about his future at the Bombers, citing the distance from his family in NSW. McVeigh and Hird are among the frontrunners to become the Bombers' next permanent coach, with Fremantle's Jaymie Graham and Adelaide's Murray Davis also in contention.

Solomon dismissed the rumors of discord as resembling an episode of the TV soap "Home and Away." He emphasized the importance of choosing the right person for the job, noting that the coach doesn't necessarily need to be from Essendon. The trio has a history together, playing and coaching for the Bombers during their recent premiership triumph in 2000 and a losing grand final in 2001.

Some club members are frustrated by the lack of progress in finding a new coach, but Solomon remains optimistic about the club's future.
