Seven teenagers charged with murder after Kelvin Grove assault victim dies

Seven teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, have been charged with murder following the death of a 27-year-old man who was severely assaulted in Kelvin Grove on July 24. The victim's condition deteriorated in the hospital, and he passed away on August 6. Police allege that shortly before 10:30pm on that day, a group of teenagers assaulted the man on Victoria Park Road, stole his blue 2025 BYD Shark 6, and fled the scene in the car.

The man was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died. The group was initially charged with various offenses, including robbery in company, grievous bodily harm, assaults occasioning bodily harm, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. Seven of the teenagers have now been added to the charges and are expected to appear in Brisbane Children's Court on Thursday.

Police have appealed for dash cam and CCTV footage from various locations and times around the incident, including Victoria Park Road, Barter Avenue, Kelvin Grove Road, and Musk Avenue. They have also sought potential witnesses who were seen driving in the area around the time of the alleged assault.
