Saudi Arabia’s healthcare practitioners surpass 800,000 from 140 countries

JEDDAH — The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties announced that the number of registered healthcare practitioners in the Kingdom reached over 801,000 by 2025. This figure comprises 460,000 Saudi professionals and 140 nationalities. The increase of 4.5 percent compared to 2024 underscores the expanding healthcare workforce.

In the same year, 12,590 graduates earned qualifications from the Saudi Board programs and Health Academy programs. Simultaneously, 10,920 training slots became available in health specialization programs, marking a 17 percent increase from the previous year. The Commission witnessed the graduation of a record-breaking 5,540 male and female practitioners, representing an 8 percent rise from the prior year.

Additionally, 25,880 trainees are currently pursuing education within the Commission's programs. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties focuses on elevating healthcare standards in the Kingdom by improving practitioner skills and aligning them with global benchmarks. It is also responsible for overseeing health professions, designing training and educational programs, administering examinations, and issuing specialized certificates.

The Commission strives to empower domestic healthcare personnel through collaborations with educational institutions and both regional and international health authorities. These initiatives aim to strengthen training quality and patient care, all while advancing the Kingdom's healthcare sector goals.
