Ricciardo stays in touch with Verstappen: 'But Norris is horrible at that'

Daniel Ricciardo maintains contact with his former Red Bull Racing teammate, Max Verstappen. The Australian driver texts Verstappen more than anyone else on the current F1 grid, explaining that while others might assume his answer would be Max, he emphasizes that texting is his preferred method of communication with Verstappen. Ricciardo left Formula 1 after the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix and has not raced in any other form of competition since.

He has, however, become an ambassador for Ford Racing. In the latest episode of the Box Box with Bella podcast, Ricciardo revealed that he remains closest to Verstappen via text.

When asked about another former teammate, Lando Norris, Ricciardo described him as "terrible at texting." The defending world champion, according to Ricciardo, gets bored after a few texts and stops replying. Ricciardo, however, prefers to communicate with his former teammate through voice notes, which he finds less selfish. He expressed his enjoyment of being off the track, stating that he is currently enjoying the small things in life and not having to be on stage.

Ricciardo remains open to the possibility of a return to racing, saying he never says never, but for now, he is content with his current situation.
