Red Sox To 'Talk Through' Bringing Roman Anthony From Fort Myers Back To Boston

The Boston Red Sox are in discussions with outfielder Roman Anthony about bringing him back to Boston, according to The Boston Globe's Tim Healey. Anthony has been sidelined since early May due to a ligament tear below his right ring finger. However, he has recently started swinging the bat again and is nearing a rehab assignment. A return to Boston would make sense before he joins Worcester or Portland.

Things have changed significantly for the Red Sox since Anthony's last stint with the team. They have achieved a 15-game winning streak and a nine-game winning streak, positioning themselves to make the postseason. Anthony, who was not playing well before his injury, has shown potential with a .859 OPS in 71 games last season and a .920 OPS in the World Baseball Classic.

He was also named to the All-WBC Tournament Team. If Anthony can return to form, he would be a significant upgrade over Jarren Duran and could be a valuable addition to the lineup.
