Rabiul Awwal moon not sighted, Eid Miladun Nabi to fall on Aug 26

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has declared that the Rabiul Awwal moon was not observed, leading to Eid-i-Miladun Nabi being scheduled for August 26. This decision came after a meeting of the committee in Islamabad. The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that the first day of Rabiul Awwal, 1448 AH, began on August 15, Saturday.

Technical assistance was provided by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other relevant institutions. Eid-i-Miladun Nabi, commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), falls on the 12th day of Rabiul Awwal in the Islamic lunar calendar. On Saturday, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah assured security and uninterrupted services for processions and religious gatherings on the day.

He directed relevant authorities to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for devotees. The CM emphasized the government's collective responsibility in facilitating the sacred observance without any hindrances. Authorities in the police, Rangers, and district administrations were instructed to implement a coordinated security plan, maintain continuous monitoring, and effectively deploy resources for all processions and Milad gatherings.

Utility providers like K-Electric, SSGC, and the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation were also tasked to ensure uninterrupted supplies of electricity, gas, and water in areas surrounding mosques, imambargahs, and procession routes.
