El FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached a preliminary agreement regarding the transfer of Ferran Torres, according to recent reports. Both clubs have begun exchanging documentation and are working to finalize the deal within the next few days. The transfer value is estimated to be around 50 million euros. Luis Enrique, the head coach of Barcelona, is the main beneficiary of the deal.

A former Valencia player, he has been Torres' first-team manager since September 2020 and has made him a regular fixture in the national team during his tenure. PSG needs to bolster their attack following the departure of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan and sees Torres as a versatile forward who can operate in various positions, fitting their current rotation strategy alongside Kvaratskhelia, Doué, and Dembélé.

The Spanish forward joined Barcelona in January 2022 from Manchester City for a fee of around 55 million euros plus a variable component. He signed a contract until June 2027 with a release clause of 1 billion euros. Since then, he has played across Barcelona's attacking trio, primarily on the left, and has steadily improved his value under Hansi Flick's management.

In the 2025-26 season, likely to be his final at the club, Torres has registered his best goal-scoring campaign as a Blaugranes, scoring 21 goals across all competitions, with 16 of those coming from La Liga. He has also been instrumental in Barcelona's Liga and Copa de España triumphs. His performance was further enhanced by his crucial role in the World Cup, scoring the decisive goal in the penalty shootout against Argentina to secure the title.

This context explains the Parisian club's interest in a versatile forward with a varied European career, arriving at this transfer window in prime condition. For Barcelona, while they reinstated the 1:1 clean financial play rule in May, the actual transfer budget remains constrained: each new signing requires freeing up equivalent funds, and Torres' sale would create that necessary space.
