President Mahama inspects Bolgatanga Airport Project as Upper East Resetting Ghana tour begins

President Mahama recently visited the Bolgatanga Airport project site in the Upper East Region of Ghana, as he embarked on his Resetting Ghana Tour. The airport is being constructed to enhance air connectivity in the area and stimulate economic growth. The facility will boast a 2,200-meter runway suitable for domestic aircraft, two parking spots, a new terminal building, taxiways, an Air Traffic Control tower, and a dedicated rescue and firefighting facility.

The terminal is projected to accommodate roughly 100,000 passengers annually, with room for expansion as needed. To ensure safe operations at night and in adverse weather conditions, the airport will also feature comprehensive lighting.

The visit to the airport was a key part of President Mahama's two-day Resetting Ghana Tour. This tour aims to engage citizens, assess ongoing projects, and showcase the government's dedication to inclusive and accountable governance. During his time at the airport, the President will also inspect progress on the Chuchuliga–Sandema road, commission the newly built Community Day Senior High School 'E' Block at Paga, and participate in a durbar to discuss the rollout of the Free Primary Health Care program in Zuarungu.

The Ghanaian leader's tour continues on Friday, with further inspections of projects at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Navrongo and the Tongo–Shega–Pelungu road. The tour will conclude with a citizens' engagement event in Bolgatanga.
