Patriots sign second free agent running back before preseason opener, per report

The New England Patriots have bolstered their running back roster before the preseason opener by signing second free agent, JaMycal Hasty. This follows their earlier signing of Hassan Haskins and waiving rookie Myles Montgomery. Hasty, 29, previously played for the 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Patriots. Over his two years with the Jaguars, Hasty amassed 66 touches, 320 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

He had a productive season with Jacksonville in his first year with the team. Hasty, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2020, was utilized as a depth running back and kickoff return option during his time with the Patriots. In his 17 games with the team over the past two seasons, Hasty accumulated 128 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries, along with averaging 23.8 yards on 10 kickoff returns.
