Oyo LG election: APM candidates drag party to court over alleged plans to conduct fresh primary

Thirty-three chairmanship and 351 councillorship candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) have filed a lawsuit against their party, the party's national chairman, the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in a Federal High Court in Ibadan, Oyo State. This legal action arises from allegations that the APM plans to hold a fresh primary election before the upcoming local government elections in the state, scheduled for December of the same year. These elections, conducted across all 33 local government areas and electoral wards in Oyo State, produced the mentioned candidates.
