Osun poll: APC chieftain warns against violence, sell-out

The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Tolu Bankole has cautioned party members and supporters in Osun State to support governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji while stressing against violence, division, and compromise ahead of the upcoming election. Bankole, also the APC National Leader for Persons with Disabilities, made his warning in a statement on Thursday.

The call for unity came as security forces, including the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, were deployed across Osun ahead of the Saturday election. The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to conduct the poll, with Oyebamiji and other candidates vying for the governorship seat.

Bankole urged party members to rally behind Oyebamiji, describing him as the party’s "clear choice" and emphasized the importance of "total commitment, total mobilisation, and total unity". He warned against any compromises or "sell-outs" and reiterated that no intimidation or violence could stop Oyebamiji from becoming the next governor of Osun State.

Bankole cautioned party members against resorting to violence and stressed the need for a peaceful electoral process. He further appealed to party leaders and stakeholders to remain united and avoid divisions that could undermine the party's chances in the poll.
