No tolerance towards digital offences: Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu delivered a strong message to the state's police force, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance on political crimes, digital offenses, and crimes against women. In a video conference with nearly 1,650 police officers, Naidu urged them to adopt stricter and more effective policing methods to tackle the evolving nature of crime.

He specifically criticized political parties for allowing their members to engage in anti-social activities and highlighted the damaging impact of motorcycle stunts during political rallies on public safety. Naidu also raised concerns about police personnel facing attacks and the negative effects of prolonged road blockages caused by demonstrations.

He stressed the importance of maintaining law and order, noting that even minor lapses can have severe consequences for the entire police system. Citing the rapid rise of digital crimes, Naidu directed the police to leverage technology for crime prevention and investigation. He emphasized the need for professional and vigilant policing, and called for the implementation of "Invisible Police, Visible Policing" to gain public trust.

The CM warned against glorifying criminal behavior on social media and expressed concern over the increasing association of drug use with rowdyism, urging a broader social discussion on the issue. Naidu assured the police of a supportive government in its efforts to maintain law and order and improve its image.
