MoJ sets six key research areas for legal, judicial studies through 2030

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in Qatar has unveiled its Research Priorities Guide for 2027-2030, which outlines six key research areas for legal and judicial studies. The guide, released by the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, aligns research priorities with the Ministry's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan and the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030. It covers 16 major priorities and 66 sub-priorities, addressing Qatar's most pressing legal and judicial needs and challenges.

Dr. Abdullah Hamad Al Khaldi, Director of the Center, explained that the guide serves four main objectives: directing research toward national priorities, linking research to policymaking, establishing a common reference for research priorities, and measuring research impact. By doing so, the guide aims to strengthen Qatar's standing in legal and judicial research, enhance specialized legal knowledge, and bridge the gap between research and practice.

The six focus areas include digital transformation, justice and dispute resolution, artificial intelligence, legal professions, legislation and public policy, and international cooperation. Together, these areas encompass the Ministry's most critical current and future legal and judicial requirements.

The guide targets various stakeholders, including MoJ sectors and departments, universities, legal professionals, experts, researchers, and government agencies. It seeks to foster research partnerships and improve coordination on legal issues of mutual interest. By accomplishing these goals, the Ministry aims to bolster the rule of law, improve legislation quality, enhance justice system efficiency, and support Qatar's sustainable development goals.
