Mira-Bhayandar: BJP Move To Remove Photos Of Shinde, Sarnaik Sparks Shiv Sena Setback Claims

In Mira-Bhayandar, the BJP's ascension to power has set the stage for potential political discord between the BJP and Shiv Sena. During the time under administration, photos of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Minister Pratap Sarnaik adorned nameplates at municipal buildings, public properties, and developed plots. Now, a proposal has been forwarded to the upcoming General Body meeting, scheduled for August 13, to remove these photographs.

Prior to the political upheaval, there was no tradition of displaying ministers' or elected representatives' images on such nameplates. However, during the administration, Shinde and Sarnaik's photos were placed during project inaugurations. The proposal appears to be based on the claim that these images were placed against the rules and protocols (Rajshishtachar). Consequently, there is a request to respectfully remove them.

In addition to this, the BJP is actively considering other decisions from the administrative period, such as returning the Thane-Ghodbunder Road to the state government, canceling sanctioned works, assessing various projects, and reevaluating choices linked to community halls. The political significance of the August 13 General Body meeting is heightened by the ongoing local differences between BJP MLA Narendra Mehta and Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

Therefore, the outcome of this proposal could potentially escalate the political rivalry between the BJP and Shiv Sena in Mira-Bhayandar.
