Ministerial team to visit Aralam farm to review human-wildlife conflict mitigation measures

A senior delegation of ministers will travel to Aralam Farm in Kannur next month to evaluate human-wildlife conflict mitigation efforts, according to a recent meeting held by the Forest Minister. The ministers expected to attend comprise Shibu Baby John, responsible for forests, Sunny Joseph, who oversees electricity and the environment and serves as a local MLA, K.A.

Thulasi, leading initiatives for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes, and P.K. Basheer, in charge of public works. The decision to send this team was made during a gathering chaired by the Forest Minister in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. The group emphasized the completion of the elephant-proof wall at Aralam Farm by December, a project currently under review by the Kerala High Court.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the clearing of undergrowth and vistas, and resolved that the rehabilitation program at the farm should be finished within a predetermined time frame.
