Mike Birbiglia Pulls Out of John Mulaney Tour Dates to Pursue Unnamed ‘Dream Project’

Renowned comedian Mike Birbiglia abruptly canceled four dates on John Mulaney's upcoming tour to pursue an undisclosed "dream project." In an exclusive message to his fan club, Birbiglia revealed that the affected shows - Aug. 30 in Calgary, Sept. 10 in Gilford, Sept. 11 in Mississauga, and Sept. 12 in Grand Rapids - will now take precedence in his 2027 solo tour schedule.

The remaining dates at the Ozarks Amphitheater, Starlight Theatre, Pinewood Bowl Theater, and The Ledge Amphitheater remained unaffected. Birbiglia expressed his disappointment at last-minute changes but emphasized that refunds are available for those who wish to receive them. He urged ticket holders to keep their tickets and support Mulaney's headlining show, praising it as "epic" and "the best special in my opinion."

Despite the setback, Birbiglia is enthusiastic about unveiling his secret project and sharing it with audiences during his 2027 tour. Known for his acclaimed one-man shows "The Old Man and the Pool" and "The Good Life," and as host of the "Working It Out" podcast, Birbiglia's future plans seem promising. While Mulaney, who appeared on Birbiglia's podcast in January, praised his financial support for Olivia Munn's large Vietnamese family, fans eagerly anticipate both Birbiglia's and Mulaney's upcoming performances.
