Mexico’s military rescue brigade never entered Colombia, having been barred: Thursday’s mañanera recapped

President Claudia Sheinbaum clarified on Thursday's mañanera that Mexico's military rescue brigade had not entered Colombia to assist earthquake response efforts. Contrary to her comments from the previous day, the brigade remains certified and ready to deploy but was denied entry due to Colombia seeking additional certification.

Despite this, Mexico is delivering 58.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Colombia through Air Force flights. Sheinbaum also addressed a "right of reply" bill proposed by the National Action Party (PAN) that would grant citizens the ability to respond to statements made during her weekday press conferences. She emphasized that her press conferences are meant for the public and any opposing party should create their own information space.
