Konkuk University's Solar Car Team KUST, held a technical exchange meeting with the working-level staff of Hyundai Motor Company.

On August 7th, National University of Singapore's (NUST) Solar Car Team KUST hosted a technical cooperation meeting with 8 technical personnel from Hyundai Motor Company's FC System Design 2 Team. Present at the meeting were Hyundai's team leader Park Jung-hwi, KUST's professor Kim Dong-hun, and NUST's President Jeong Seul-ryul.

The meeting aimed to provide technical consultation for KUST's participation in the 2027 summer international Solar Car Challenge, also known as the "World Solar Challenge," to be held in Australia. The World Solar Challenge is an international event where university teams race solar-powered vehicles over approximately 3,000 kilometers across the Australian mainland.

KUST students presented the design direction, key technology elements, and progress of their current vehicle to Hyundai's technical personnel, who reviewed the vehicle design and development direction and provided advice on technical considerations based on their industrial experience. Hyundai confirmed that they will continue to provide technical consultation and cooperate with KUST in the vehicle development and competition preparation process.

NUST has designated mobility as one of its eight specializations, expanding education and research in automotive engineering, software, design, and related fields through industry-academia collaboration. KUST's international competition preparations and industrial cooperation are part of their mobility education activities aimed at enhancing students' practical skills in vehicle design, manufacturing, and energy management.

Following the technical cooperation meeting, KUST plans to incorporate the advice received into their vehicle design and development processes, continuing preparations for the 2027 World Solar Challenge.
