Juventus forward Vlahovic signs three-year Besiktas deal

Serbian international striker Dusan Vlahovic has inked a three-year contract with Turkish club Besiktas, following an injury-riddled final season at Juventus. The 26-year-old forward, whose Juventus deal concluded this summer, will receive a salary of 7.5 million euros per year, as announced by Besiktas. Upon his arrival in Istanbul on Wednesday, Vlahovic was met by a group of supporters. He announced his ambition to lead his new team to the title, stating, "We want to be champions."

Vlahovic, who has earned 41 caps for Serbia, joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2022. During his time at Turin, he contributed 68 goals in 168 appearances. However, after securing the second-highest scoring position in the 2023-2024 Serie A season with 16 goals, he faced a decline in playing time. Following a layoff due to a thigh injury earlier in the year, Vlahovic battled a calf injury that limited his participation in the league campaign, netting only seven goals.

Besiktas, last crowned Turkish champions in 2021, have struggled to compete with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, the city's other leading clubs. The Serbian forward will now partner with Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, who transferred from Arsenal to Besiktas in mid-July.
