Judge dismisses Trump administration lawsuit alleging antisemitism at Harvard University

A federal judge in Boston dismissed a lawsuit brought by the Trump administration, alleging that Harvard University failed to address antisemitism on its campus. According to the judge, U.S. District Judge Richard G. Stearns, the administration did not provide enough evidence to prove an ongoing violation of federal civil rights laws.

The lawsuit, filed in March, focused on incidents that occurred during the 2023-24 academic year, with a few cases from March 2025. The Trump administration argued that Harvard did not protect Jewish students during pro-Palestinian demonstrations following the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks on Israel. Harvard University stated that it cares deeply about its Jewish and Israeli community and remains committed to ensuring their safety and well-being.
