Investigate Mahama relative’s alleged role in AKSA deal – Manhyia South MP

Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, is calling for a comprehensive investigation into the alleged involvement of a relative of President John Mahama in the AKSA Energy power project. Speaking on Joy FM's Top Story, Awuah emphasized the need to identify the individual mentioned in the United States court proceedings and determine their role in the transaction.

He asked questions about the nature of the president's relationship with the individual, the company or entity they were associated with, and their role in approving the AKSA project. Awuah also demanded clarification on whether the alleged relative received any payment and for what purpose. He believes that understanding these details is crucial in determining if the individual had any financial interest in the AKSA deal or exerted influence over its approval.

Awuah's call for an evidence-based investigation echoes concerns similar to those surrounding the Airbus controversy, where a close relative of a high-ranking Ghanaian official was implicated in court proceedings.
