‘I’m still in the Unity Govt’: Lahad Datu MP Yusof Apdal says viral resignation claim ‘untrue and malicious’

LAHAD DATU, Aug 13 — Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Mohammad Yusof Apdal has refuted allegations that he has resigned from the federal government and withdrawn from the Unity Government administration. Dr Yusof Apdal's statement to Bernama today clarified that the claim circulating on social media is both untrue and malicious.

The Deputy Minister affirmed his ongoing commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him within the Unity Government. Dr Yusof Apdal, who represents the Lahad Datu constituency in Parti Warisan, expressed concern over the dissemination of false information, stating that it not only misleads the public but also aims to damage his reputation.

He called upon the public to refrain from spreading unverified news and to consult official sources for accurate and reliable information. A social media post today claimed that Dr Yusof Apdal had decided to resign as Deputy Minister, effective immediately.
