Iindepro Dynamics makes the electric motors that spin a drone's propellers

Iindepro Dynamics, established in 2016 as BotLab Dynamics and later rebranded as Vayudh, is an Indian company specialized in manufacturing electric motors for drones. Co-founded by Jaydeep Viramgama and Parag Jobanputra, the company is headquartered in New Delhi and was incubated at IIT Delhi. It was formally founded in Rajkot in April 2023 to provide domestically produced drone motors, as only 10% of India's drone market consists of domestically produced drones.

Iindepro Dynamics focuses on brushless direct current motors, used in nearly every electric drone, with designs that include coaxial motors and patented axial flux architectures. The company's engineers optimize motors for heat management and wear, which are critical limiting factors in drone motor performance. Unlike building a single product, Iindepro aims to offer a range of motors, currently aiming for a portfolio of 18 motors across 25 different speed ratings.

The company has already garnered attention from customers, including SpanTrik, a drone company, which had coaxial motors engineered by Iindepro within 30 days to its specifications. Another customer also reported repeat orders for compact motors that were unavailable from Indian suppliers. Iindepro has also collaborated with IIT Madras Research Park on a motor for a defence project.

The company's work contributes to indigenisation in the drone sector by replacing imported parts with domestically manufactured alternatives, thus reducing costs and delivery times for Indian drone manufacturers.
