‘I wouldn’t change my journey’

Jake Ceresna, the 6-5, 290-pound defensive tackle for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, has had an impressive football career despite coming from a small town in Connecticut. Growing up, Ceresna played multiple sports, but football became his passion. After high school, he attended Southern Connecticut State University and Cortland State University before joining the CFL's Ottawa Redblacks.

Initially invited to the Kansas City Chiefs rookie minicamp, Ceresna chose to join the CFL, where he quickly adapted to the Canadian game. After a brief stint with the Green Bay Packers and a stint as an assistant O-line coach, Ceresna signed with the New York Jets before returning to Ottawa in 2017. He then went on to play for the New York Giants, making a notable pre-season sack against the New England Patriots.

Despite struggling with several teams, Ceresna's hard work and determination have finally paid off. Now a part of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ceresna is enjoying his football career and is proud of his journey, even if he had to take loans for his education.
