How UAE have struck gold with Zlatko Dalic appointment

Dubai has welcomed a new era in UAE football with the appointment of Zlatko Dalic as the head coach of the national team. The UAE Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of the Croatian as the new Head Coach of the UAE National Team."

At 59 years old, Dalic will bring a wealth of experience to the UAE, having previously guided Al Ain to the domestic league title and leading Croatia to multiple international successes. His impressive track record includes finishing as runners-up at the 2018 World Cup and claiming third place in the 2022 World Cup, making him one of only a select few managers to win two World Cup medals.

Dalic's arrival is seen as a bold statement of intent for UAE football, with his familiarity with the region, culture, and footballing landscape providing a solid foundation for success. The first challenge for Dalic will be the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6. Following the Gulf Cup, Dalic will face his next major challenge in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which the UAE have yet to win. The tournament, scheduled in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5, will provide Dalic with a high-stakes opportunity to create history with the UAE national team.
