HONOR Magic9 Series With New Design Teased; China Launch In September

Recently, HONOR unveiled details about the upcoming Magic9 series during an event in China, where the brand hinted at a new design and enhancements to its imaging system. The teaser image showcased a close-up of the handset’s circular camera module, which seems to have been moved to the top left corner, standing on top of a squarish or rectangular island, potentially making the phone thicker.

The module appears to draw inspiration from professional camera equipment, as the ARRI branding is clearly visible. HONOR has confirmed that its collaboration with German company ARRI will extend to the Magic9 lineup, meaning that the brand's imaging technologies, including ARRI LogC3, ARRI Looks, and ARRI Cinema, will be integrated into the devices.

The text on the camera module also suggests a 200MP lens with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Although specific specifications are scarce, rumors indicate that the lineup will consist of three devices: a base version, a Pro variant, and a top-of-the-line Pro Max (or RSR) model. These phones are anticipated to feature OLED displays with a 1.5K resolution, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 elite Gen 6 Pro System on a Chip (SoC), and 8,000mAh batteries.

Additionally, HONOR may launch an AI stylus accessory with the lineup. The phones are set to make their debut in China in September, but no specific date has been announced, and details regarding a Malaysian release remain undisclosed.
